@शब्दशोधक The gender of compound words are usually determined by the final element of the compound. Since आलय (ālay) should be neuter in Marathi, according to:

Berntsen, Maxine, “आलय”, in A Basic Marathi-English Dictionary, New Delhi: American Institute of Indian Studies, 1982-1983.

the lemma रुग्णालय (rugṇālay) should be treated neuter.

However, there is evidence of रुग्णालय (rugṇālay) being treated as masculine as well, so in that paradigm the direct plural would be तीन रुग्णालय (three hospitals). Furthermore, since Marathi declension is a bit more complicated than at first glance (see User:Kutchkutch/mr-decl and User talk:AryamanA/sandbox), showing Marathi declension on a mass scale isn't recommended until User:AryamanA has time to work on MOD:mr-decl perhaps using MOD:hi-noun as a guide.

@Kutchkutch: I don’t know Marathi language at all but somehow I knew that रुग्णालय was a Marathi word. In compounds or samāsa words in Sanskrit, it is the same विद्या (f) + आलय(m) = विद्यालय (m) and पाठ (m) + शाला (f) gives पाठशाला which is (f). @शब्दशोधक: The entry has been updated. The phrase ʻboth of which are Sanskrit wordsʼ allows compounds consisting of Sanskrit elements without the compound itself being attested in Sanskrit to be shown as being derived from Sanskrit. Kutchkutch (talk) 11:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

@AryamanA: Thanks for the reply! Yes, your life sounds very busy.

Since MOD:mr-IPA is now deployable, perhaps making MOD:mr-decl deployable would be the next stage of improving Marathi infrastructure within the greater goal of improving the infrastructure of Indo-Aryan languages. Since there's still some time remaining until you work on MOD:mr-decl, perhaps that time could be used to clarify the concepts involved (such as your opinion on the incomplete User:Kutchkutch/mr-decl).

The issue with using {{R:mr:Dhongde-Wali 2009}} for declension is that it's merely a summary that doesn't use Devanagari. Thus, it isn't explicit enough for a module. For example, since stem changes are an issue, there are testcases with and without stem changes at User:Kutchkutch/mr-decl. The testcases at User:Kutchkutch/mr-decl are based on declension paradigms in the Marathi Teaching Materials series by {{R:mr:Berntsen}}) along with CFILT tags to organise the declension paradigms. .
