@Kutchkutch Hi! How exactly do we know that the word ends in a nasal? Smettems (talk) 01:59, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Smettems: The transliteration is shown as dasavāṁ on page 149 of {{R:inc-opa:Glossary}}. On page xxvi of {{R:inc-opa:Glossary}}, it says
In the transcription an historically justified -ṁ is written where appropriate
even if the Gurmukhi script does not indicate the word-final nasal. Kutchkutch (talk) 10:00, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Kutchkutch: Thank you! Would we be able to (or want to) use a standardized orthography, and list variants (similarly to how Middle English and Old English are handled)? Smettems (talk) 20:05, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Smettems: For now, it would be better to use the spellings as they appear in {{R:inc-opa:Glossary}} until Old Punjabi is better understood. The historically justified nasal could be indicated with the |ts= parameter as:
{{head|inc-opa|adjective|tr=dasavā|ts=dasavāṁ}} or {{inc-opa-adj|tr=dasavā|ts=dasavāṁ}}
so that it displays
ਦਸਵਾ (dasavā /dasavāṁ/)
for the headword. Kutchkutch (talk) 10:55, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
That sounds good. Thanks! Smettems (talk) 15:23, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
