Táng's etymology[edit]

That paragraph was total BS from start to finish.

The word PHAH-PIÀᴺ is older than the Japanese occupation, as we'd expect. It's in the Douglas dictionary. (talk) 02:13, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, 拍摒 was not how people wrote the word during Japanese rule. 打拼 was the common form; the popular modern form 打拼 is the traditional form. (Not clear why this Wiktionary entry doesn't reflect that.) (talk) 02:22, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
