Decomposition of character?

Can the character be decomposed into two (or is it a phono-semantic compound?) The left side is 曾 (the original meaning, as noted there). But is the element on the left (the "almost box with slash and hat on top and hook on the right" - I'm English-native [obviously] and haven't studied the radicals yet) Jimw338 (talk) 14:12, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
