etymology of 耽美[edit]

Can someone who knows Japanese please check this etymology? Cheers. ---> Tooironic 23:26, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In Japanese 耽美 (たんび, tanbi) (n is pronounced as "m" here) simply means aesthetics and 耽美主義 (たんびしゅぎ, tanbishugi) - aestheticism. It doesn't have the same slang meaning as in Mandarin. --Anatoli 03:42, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I would have assumed such a concept would have started in Japan, not China, though this is only a guess on my part. ---> Tooironic 15:10, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
耽美 on Goo dictionary (和英辞書 - goo辞書) (和英 (J-E) must be checked). --Anatoli 20:29, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
