@Justinrleung: Unlikely. The way they would pronounce 豆沙包 and 叉燒包 were definitely not Mandarin unless they were talking to friends from China or Taiwan. In the latter, they would typically use the Cantonese pronunciation, so I suspect this might be an approximation of the Cantonese pronunciation into Hokkien phonology. @The dog2: léng for 蓮 seems possible, since lkcnhm.nus.edu.sg/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/lkcnhm-e-books/LKCNHM-EBOOK-2019-0001.pdf indicates liân can be pronounced as léng or lêng after tone sandhi, although probably influenced by Mandarin 蓮 lián or as a habitual mispronunciation by some. However, it seems like like liân would be the proper pronunciation in terms of Hokkien phonology, like in 蓮花 liân-hoe. I usually pronounce it as liân-iông, sometimes liánróng, instead of léng-iông, while others may pronounce it as lin⁴ jung⁴. I think, in Singapore, we usually either use the dialect-specific pronunciations and phonology for dialect-specific food or an approximation of the original dialect pronunciation, e.g. 叉燒包 as caa¹ siu¹ baau¹, chha-sio-pau, etc.; 酿豆腐 as ngiong⁴ têu⁴ fu⁴, iōng-tāu-hū, etc..
