@Justinrleung: Is this a calque in its traditional meaning? 酚 and 酞 themselves are from European lanugage, so I don't feel confortable seeing this word called calque. Dokurrat (talk) 05:42, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Dokurrat: Well, 酚 means “phenol” and 酞 means “phthalein”, so it seems like a calque to me (word-by-word or morpheme-by-morpheme). 酚 and 酞 are Chinese words, no matter where they come from. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 05:49, 28 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
