Presently trying to find out where the saying 101 (new beginning or entry level) originated.
Is it from a Scientific field such as Chemistry e.g. linked to something on the Periodic Table?
Is it from a branch of mathematics?
Is it is just modern day terminology relating to entry level courses at Universities / Polytechics or any other educational establishment?

Hrm...the pronunciation guidance is wrong for the Adjective sense (at least as I've heard it used.) When used with reference to "something that should be known as part of core/basic knowledge in a subject area" (etymology to college course levels) then pronunciation is "Won-oh-won". --97.65.64.178 12:35, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
