Hekateros was a minor Titan, the god of hands. His children, the Dactyloi (fingers), five boys and five girls, were artists, skilled with their hands; the boys were also blacksmiths. Hence "one of both" refers to the hands, suggesting that the name Ekaterina/Catherine means "skilled hands."
unclear phrasing in Etymology section[edit]
What exactly is "in Latin languages, German and English" supposed to mean? Is it supposed to be "in Romance languages, German, and English", or "in the Latin alphabet-using languages German and English", or something else entirely?
