Swap with Clementine

[edit]

Clementine is the main spelling[1] so the main article should be there and this one should be an {{alternative spelling of}} stub. Fytcha (talk) 22:44, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Fytcha: If you look at the book hits, they mostly refer to the proper noun senses (which we don't have). – Jberkel 23:05, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Jberkel: Ah, you're right, I haven't had a look into the particular results. However, Duden also suggests Clementine as the main spelling and the Internet use is also heavily skewed:
5610 for "Clementine essen" vs 5 for "Klementine essen"
2610 for "saftige Clementine" vs 10 for "saftige Klementine"
I would still suggest we move the main article to Clementine. What do you think? Fytcha (talk) 23:26, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok, agreed. tbh, I don't remember seeing the K spelling at all. de.wikt doesn't even have an entry for it. Maybe a case of a prescriptivist spelling which was never followed in practice. –Jberkel 23:32, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah same, with K it looks a bit like a hypercorrection to me. I'm moving it now. Fytcha (talk) 23:44, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Maybe it'll go soon the way of Kargo, Kabrio & Kupee. – Jberkel 23:54, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
