Webster 1913 disagrees with us. Its definition: "Applied to the Romance languages, as being mostly of Latin origin." Equinox 22:53, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have added citations regarding the definition here. For "Romance languages", these are mostly nineteenth century AFAICT; it might be good to make it clear the usage is obsolete JimKillock (talk) 07:25, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
