Possible spelling error[edit]
If I may, I have never come across the word Rébecca (with an acute accent) in any written French I’ve read heretofore (and wouldn’t employ it as a Frenchman), nor does an Internet search appear to give it as a result, while Rebecca (without an acute accent) seems to be of systematic use; what’s more, the French Wiktionary only refers to Rebecca, and not to Rébecca. I therefore suggest this entry be deleted after its content has been transferred to Rebecca if my opinion were to be confirmed. — SniperMaské 00:36, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have added Rebecca as a variant spelling.I get 44 800 b.g.c. hits for French "Rébecca". The é spelling comes from a 1978 bible translation, but I can see from French Wikipedia that Rebecca is also used, e.g. in 1910 and 1923 versions. French Wikipedia does mention Rébecca, for example in the text of [1], and as a redirect.--Makaokalani 13:58, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
