Initialism or pronounceable acronym?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that this term is pronounced "arfid," so that's how I say it. But I gradually noticed that others consistently pronounce it as an initialism: "ar-eff-eye-dee." And this entry also says it is an initialism. So am I the only person in the English-speaking world who (mis)pronounces it "arfid"? --Ginkgo100 (talk) 01:21, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
