Etymology of name[edit]

Certainly the etymology of this name/word does not only go back to the movies. I have a co-worker named Don Rambo. Does anyone have any more insight into the background surrounding this name?75.112.134.2 12:54, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Rambo name in the United States came from on Peer(Peter)Gunnarson Rambo who was born in Sweden about 1611. He came to New Sweden Philadelphia) in 1642 on the Calmer Nickel, the second boat from Sweden to the New World. The geneology of most all if not all Rambo's in America is documented in the "Rambo Book". Philadelphia has much documentation on the family at the Gloria Dei church founded in 1677 and a the Swedish Society. -- Craig Rambo
