I have created this entry by translating the entry from German Wikipedia, omitting the adjective unsystematic, on the assumption that it is already implied in unordered. An improvement by a German native speaker or whoever is in the know is welcome.

Etymology [edit]
The German Wikipedia article says that the word is derived from "sammelsur", used in 18. century, which roughly meant "disgusting vegetable mix". --Daniel Polansky 17:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
