The Practitioner's Medical Dictionary (Gould, 1919) defines this word as "the threshold, or limen, of any sensation; nerve-excitation which just fails of producing a sensation". The word in this sense seems to have been used by one Fechner. Equinox ◑ 14:45, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
