Meaning of Sony[edit]

It is a created word regarding "sunny boy". I thought the word creator was w:Akio Morita, a co-founder of Sony corporation. See w:Akio Morita#Sony for details. --Eveningmist 05:06, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Alternate pronunciation?[edit]
My old boss pronounced it /'sɒni/, to rhyme with bonny. Is that normal at all? Perhaps it's an older form? (Compare how Nestlé in Britain used to be nestles, like what an animal does.) It also seems as though this might match a Japanese transliteration more closely. Equinox ◑ 09:13, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
