Requesting quotations specifically for "Sool, Sanaag and Cayn" as one administrative/lexical unit. This usage could exist, but a lot of books seem to just treat them as three distinct units that have banded together (e.g., "the northern regions of Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn"). That said, the initialism SSC exists for this. I'm not sure. Also, the current definition is not very useful at all to anyone not well-versed in Somali geography and politics. 70.172.194.25 20:44, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

The original definition clarifies what this is talking about somewhat. Sool, Sanaag and Cayn was the official name of an unrecognised separatist entity for a short period (cf. SSC (militia) on wiki): cf. "A new separatist clan militia named Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn (SSC) emerged" [1], "a group known as the Sool, Sanaag and Cayn militia" [2], "the Dhulbahante set up the Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) administration in 2009" [3]. As the gloss suggests, after a few years this group reorganised itself in 2012 as the Khatumo State, which also existed de facto for a few years but does not have a sense at Khatumo. Given that both of these entities only existed for 3–5 years apiece I doubt either of them will be well-attested. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 20:35, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Al-Muqanna: Do you think the ones I just added are good? (The third one may not be technically durably archived, but I think it's probably unobjectionable.) 70.172.194.25 02:55, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
They look fine to me! I guess someone might complain that they're all attributive but there's not much choice in this case if we want to be unambiguous. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 15:47, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
