Meaning[edit]

Compared to German lexica, Tagfalter (butterfly) and Nachtfalter (moth) are wrong. Instead it's said to be something like Tagfalter (butterfly which flies at day) and Nachtfalter (butterfly which flies at night), both would be hyponyms to Schmetterling (butterfly). -09:03, 22 September 2018 (UTC)

The problem is that in German biological terminology "Schmetterling" doesn't mean "butterfly" (as it typically does in common use) but "insect of the order Lepidoptera", that is a butterfly or moth. 178.4.151.74 00:06, 23 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
