wikibook?[edit]

Is the broken template supposed to be from Wikipedia? Anyone know it this should be a wikibook reference?

Also, is this a Spanish word, or English and Spanish? --Connel MacKenzie 17:29, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

"a Turkish sailor who plies in coasting craft"

I can find this definition in editions of W.H. Smyth's Sailor's Word-Book, or in other glossaries that presumably got it from Smyth. I cannot, however, find the word actually used. Google Books shows the glossaries, plus scannos for Arab or Ababdeh, or descriptions of sea shanties with ABAB rhyme scheme. (The entry was transwiki'd from Wikipedia in 2005 by an anonymous user.)
