Countable senses. --Connel MacKenzie T C 00:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  1. (countable) A day of severe destruction or death.
  2. (countable) A confrontation that will change the course of history.
I checked the first 5 pages of google for "the apocolypse, and could only find one reference to a specific day. (06 06 06) As it has passed, and we're still here, I have decided to discount it. RFVfailed. Andrew massyn 19:50, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"revelation" sense[edit]

The current usage example is crap, as it assumes nerdy knowledge of the history of Perl. Equinox 19:10, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the third sense is archaic. The Book of Revelation is named so for its discussion in the Apocalypse, written in a time where it was much more likely to mean "revelation".
