arrested doesn't have to be past tense or past participle it can be prestent tense "he is getting arrested" or future tense "i hope he gets arrested"

That's the passive voice. The passive voice can take an -ed when being formed. See, "being formed". Not a past tense. — Vildricianus 12:17, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
