Arabic origin[edit]

The article claims that the word artichoke originally comes from Arabic القرشوف, al-qaršūf, with a qaf (ق) as the first letter of the word. However, when I make a Google search for this form of the word, nearly all of the results are from either Wiktionary or Wikipedia. Other dictionaries suggest the Arabic word begins with a sound transliterated as either kh or h (probably خ). I think we need more and/or better sources for this form of the Arabic word to continue using it in the etymology section. ✎ HannesP · talk 13:17, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
