I request the verification of the adjective for caitiff because I've never heard it used, and I can't seem to find much information about it, so I thought that it would be a good idea to request it for verification. Cheers, Razorflame 01:56, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- I suspect it is the attributive use of the noun sense ("despicable person"), i.e. (deprecated template usage) dastardly. If that is true, we would not want/need the separate adj header. Equinox ◑ 02:12, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've come across the word in Old French study, so the etymology (from what I was taught) is ok. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:24, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty certain it can be used as an adjective. It sounds very Walter Scott-ish to me, I will look for a citation. Ƿidsiþ 16:36, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Three found. All 19thC poetry though. I'm not sure that the word "especially" is required in the definition. Pingku 17:59, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Changed one in favour of a Washington Irving citation. Pingku 18:34, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
