obscure vs. obsolete[edit]

The question was is the noun definition obsolete or historical?

I pretty much agree with this page's characterizations. The adjective senses, though somewhat obscure or unusual, are real and current. (For example, you might speak of "the caloric content of food".) The noun sense is, yes, obsolete; it refers to the now-outdated w:Caloric theory. —scs 16:43, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
