I've heard of "block" being used in LA and Phoenix to refer to the distance between major intersections (which can be a nasty surprise if you're used to the other definition), but I can't find any good evidence with google. Can anyone confirm or deny? If so, is this called a "city block" or just a "block"? -dmh 03:55, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
