Usage: not only in music[edit]

The adjectival definition is given with the (music) template preceding it. While I'm most aware of the usage of this work in music, it is also the case that the (now) English adjective contrapuntal is also used in non-music contexts. For example, it is used in my field of economics, where in comparative economic systems, when focusing on any one economic system (say state-mediated markets in the west) we might look at another system (say, the Soviet economic system of 1922-1991) as the contrapuntal system with respect to some particular factor under study.
