A few hits on Google (109 hits, 32 pages) with the spelling corbie messenger. All Google hits on messinger seem to be proper nouns, not general usage as a substitute for "messenger." --Dajagr 00:35, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so we have definitions for both corbie and messinger, and I can find hits for corbie messenger that match the defition given at this page, but a search for corbie messinger turns up 0 hits. Now what? :) --Dajagr 19:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bah. Delete it if you really want to. The problem is Scots does not really have a standardised spelling system yet, so although this is spelt ‘right’ according to current dictionaries, many citations will be in alternate forms (corbie can also be corby for example). Whether this entry stays or not, we probably need corby messenger anyway, as that is the spelling used in Scottish English and found in many English dictionaries.
