Transitive (business)[edit]

People in business deal in what they buy and sell, yet in one context deal is transitive, in a phrase originating in the language of the underworld. We say that a person deals drugs (to say that one deals in contraband would sanitize it, or perhaps the phrasing is a metaphorical extension, as one might deal cards). --Backinstadiums (talk) 14:58, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
