"Disrespect" is not a verb. "Respect" can be used as a noun or a verb, however "disrespect" should only be used as a noun. When a person uses "disrespect" as a verb that person is either revealing a poor education, or is using a rhetorical form of slang that emulates pidgin English.

A quick check in my AHD reveals it to be listed and not indicated as slang. Do you have a source which reveals it as slang? --Stranger 03:00, 31 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
