Capitalization[edit]

The citation capitalises "pond". I suggest findind another source or changing the article's title to "across the Pond". Maybe the citation was wrongly transcribed etc.? I think someone should take a look at it. Anyone have any information about this? People who are familiar with the expression in both oral and written language? — This comment was unsigned.

In works published in the 17th and 18th centuries, nouns other than proper nouns were often capitalized. There is no point in having a proliferation of entries that differ only by capitalization. We consider that English citations of a term, whatever the capitalization, are valid attestation of the term. For some terms, archaic capitalization may be a good indicator of the archaic nature of the term. In this case, it seems to convey the idea that the warning was shouted.
