the spanish translation is: "remolino". --Feministo 10:07, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Olà Feministo, lo siento, pero "remolino" (in french "tourbillon" ou "révolin") means "whirlpool" , while the definition of the WOTD says "an eddy is a counter-current" . But is that definition correct ? I thought an eddy was a whirl of water , & so it seems we were both wrong...Or were we not ?...Abrazo amistoso... T.y. Arapaima 09:26, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I specified that is almost always used for a circular current. The translation for whirlpool is correct --Diuturno 09:59, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Grazie tante Diuturno for your precision. Though, I know some kayakists who much prefer paddling quietly upstream on a countercurrent rather than being spun around in a whirlpool...Ciao Arapaima 07:50, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
