verbal[edit]
As a rhetorical device, ekphrasis requires verbal description. This definition could be expanded to include the broader meaning: the representation of a work of art in another medium: a painting of a sculpture, for example. Also the musical depiction of a work of visual art: Pictures at an Exhibition. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 22:01, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
