Hyponyms?[edit]

@DTLHS, regarding this edit, are you sure those are hyponyms? They just seem like examples of endmembers (and presumably there would be a very lo-o-ong list of those). — SGconlaw (talk) 19:58, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow I never thought of hyponyms that way. I was under the impression they were like subsets rather than the actual elements of a set (e.g., chordophone is a hyponym of musical instrument). However, looking at our own definition and example ("dog is a hyponym of animal") I think you are right. — SGconlaw (talk) 20:10, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
