I don't know if there's any policy and I've seen it done plenty but the etymology section is just more sensible because you can state what each part means. For phrases containing spaces it's just a nice little extra to make the parts clickable since it's already apparent that they are individual words. Languages which never use spaces are a blurry edge case though. — hippietrail 00:12, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
