May also be entirely obsolete. I thought I'd found a contemporary use here on page 5 in the poem: Għax l-għadu mgħaddeb kollu ħruxija / Ried li jġarraf is-swar Maltija, / Imma qawwija u rebbiħin / Is-swar ta’ Malta baqgħu weqfin. ("For the punished enemy full of ruthlessness / Wanted to tear down the Maltese walls, / But strong and victorious / The walls of Malta remained standing.") It does fit the context especially in juxtaposition with rebbiħin ("victorious"). On the other hand, it could also be a typo for mgħaddab ("angered, angry"), which would fit just as well. 90.186.83.39 20:03, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
