Don't want to expound too much in the entry because the etymology is just a theory. Just note here that apart from the initial غ the derivation is really entirely unproblematic. Arabic عُرُن would give Maltese "għoron", from which the backformation "għorna" is likely. Cf. "għorfa", "għoqda" and many other words which pluralise in the same way. 178.4.151.17 06:47, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
