Talk:gateau

for my homework i have to find english words that have come from french words - in 1066 (i don't really get it much but would gateau be one because i know we use the word today and i know that the french use it for cake but was it made in 1066?) please reply soon - the homework has caused me and my family some thinking and we thaught the experts might know.
