This surely is all wrong. "Etymology - heraldry +‎ -ist = heraldist" A heraldist studies heralds not heraldry. The word for a studier of heraldry should be HERALDRIST. Heraldry; remove the Y; add ist = Heraldrist, not heraldist. This is basic English. Kiltpin (talk) 14:24, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, "chemist" is defined as "a person whose occupation specializes in the science of chemistry". CHEMISTRIST does not exist. I deleted the Etymology. You are free to write a better one. --Hekaheka (talk) 22:27, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You are unfortunately, talking to the wrong person. If I had the power, I would remove 'heraldist' from the English language; it is sloppy and does not describe its function. I would truly love to meet the woolly-headed thinker who first coined the word! I will not be be writing an etymology for it. Kiltpin (talk) 10:27, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
