The phonetics in Danish are not IPA, but Dania
About the pronunciations[edit]
The current entry " /vad/, [vað], [va], [vɑ]" seem really off / wrong to me. As mentioned by an anonymous user, they are from Dania transcription system. This system is barely used anymore, shouldn't it be better to use IPA ? I have seen [væð] on other-language Wikionary pages for "hvad". But also [vɛð] and even [βɛ̙ð] (French Wiktionary). What should we take ? For some references, we have Forvo --> https://forvo.com/word/hvad/#da The Forvo user "CMunk" says 3 different pronunciations, depending on being more formal or casual.
Finally, we must not forget regional variation. I've seen that the people from Northern Jutland say the "hv" differently, where the "h" seems audible (see the comment from "typograf62" --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpb8XSM1FMU&lc=Ugwt47IDlgMWdTZ5R0J4AaABAg ). A Wikipedia article about Danish dialects mentions the /ʍ/ phoneme which clearly sounds like an audible "hv" sound combinaison, like some English people are still doing for "what" (/ʍɒt/).
So please help me in bettering the pronunciations. It's important :) !
