Unfalsifiable[edit]

How does this word relate to unfalsifiable?

I don't think it is related. Unfalsifiable simply means something which can not be falsified, IE if you declare that invisible elves live in your shoes, or that the god of your religion exists. Incontrovertible however refers to something that is so obviously true that it can not be argued, IE that the sky is blue or that objects fall if you drop them. Unfalsifiable things are impossible to prove false EVEN IF they ARE false, where as incontrovertible things are nearly impossible to prove false, because there is so much evidence supporting them. 76.64.156.168 02:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
