em, I don't know about other places, but in Ireland, it's very common to say "lashing" instead of "pelting" or "raining heavily" Kanjo Kotr 01:33, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Transitive : ito encourage somebody, especially a crowd of people, to feel a strong emotion such as anger
