- Three post-2000 fiction cites, not period pieces, not Irish not (obviously) referencing any individual named Reilly. IT just looks like the less common spelling. I can find cites for Reilly most decades for which g.b.c. provides enough material. DCDuring 12:02, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Try a search on any major newspaper. You will find many modern examples of life of Reilly. Agreed, you will find more for Riley, but the %age leads to the conclusion that alternative spelling is correct. Algrif 13:01, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- The %ages seem to relate to the publications and broadcasting of titles with one or the other spelling. "The Life of Reilly" (play) in the 1930s, "The Life of Riley" (TV show) in 1940s/50s, "The Life of Reilly" (books?, columns, blogs) more recently. Also the return to favor of spellings that accentuate the Gaelic. WWI and WWII both led to more prevalence of the Riley spelling, too, I think. DCDuring 16:26, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
