"Lookit"--69.142.77.118 15:33, 20 March 2012 (UTC) may have started as a form of "look at," but as I was growing up in the '40s and '50s in Philadelphia, it was also a stand-alone exclamation.
Rebracketing[edit]
Small children will likely keep interpreting look at as an atomic verb for a long time coming ..... so, I don't think this word is obsolete, ... it's just the fad of adults imitating them that comes and goes. Lollipop (talk) 04:57, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
