I've taken the liberty of "merging" both views on this; manyfold seems to be both a homonym (sounds the same) and synonym (means something similar) of manifold.

manyfold: def: "By many times."

manifold: def: "Various in kind or quality; many in number; numerous; multiplied; complicated; diverse."
