mazalozo (masculine) / mazaloza (feminine) are Judaeo-Spanish words meaning “lucky” and is used as is Mazal bueno or the Yiddish expression of Mazel tov. "Mazalozo / mazaloza" are ancient terms that one will hardly find in an English or Spanish dictionary. The terms are cultural words that have survived in the speech of Sephardi Jews for many years.

These terms are used during games or when there is risk. When you win three consecutive times in a row, you are said to be "mazalozo," and when you win more than five consecutive times, you are said to be "fortunato"
