We define this as a medical abnormality, but Chambers 1908 defined it as "a full, round face, a point of beauty in the East". Equinox 17:24, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

In Arabic قَمَر (qamar, moon) is a typical analogy for a beautiful face, so maybe that's the reference. I don't think it refers specifically to the roundness, though; more like a "shining" face. 90.186.170.193 00:10, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
