You just got "pwned" if you got called a "newb" or "noob" and it sometimes is used as just a common name for people even if you are the most experienced at something, people still tell you that you are a "newb" or "noob"

Not unique to this word. A person who does one foolish thing may be called an "idiot" even if he is generally intelligent. Equinox 21:15, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hard to pronounce if you iotize the 'u'[edit]

Here's what Wiktionary has for "newbie":

IPA(key): /ˈnjuːbi/, /ˈnuːbi/ Rhymes: -uːbi

What's the evidence that we want only "nyoob" for this word??

This is short for "newbie" so it's pronounced the same way. We have both forms for "newb" too. Equinox 22:40, 23 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
