Pronunciation (homographs)[edit]

It appears that the first syllable is pronounced differently in the two senses of the word. The 'lever/noun' sense has a 'bed' sound while the 'foot/adjective' sense has a 'lee' sound.zigzig20s 19:06, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The OED has both pronuncations for the "foot" sense. — Paul G 09:09, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Should we list homophones?[edit]

I'm pretty new to wiktionary. Should this page list homophones? (I'm thinking of peddle and petal) -- JasonWoof 22:37, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Use the {{homophones}} template under the pronunciation section. See peddle for the template in use. Ultimateria 02:23, 6 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
