Why doesn't this mention red, yellow, and blue? Those are the colors most people refer to as primary. Wyctioped 20:43, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because that is only one set of primary colors. For people working in optics or television, the primary colours are red, green, and blue. Which colors are primary is context dependant, and that is material for an encyclopedia, not a dictionary. --EncycloPetey 21:42, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre definition from Chambers 1908![edit]

"Primary colours: the three colours, red, green, and violet, from which the others, called Secondary colours, can be obtained." Red, green, and violet?! Is this an error, or a legitimate older sense we should include? Equinox 04:28, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
